Life in Real Time

Life in real time is inside-out.
It’s always waiting and waiting.
Like finding a left sock in the drawer
And pulling it right-side out. The sock
sits in the drawer longing to be made right.

We sit at our screens in our underwear
Longing to be made right.
We confuse time with potential.
And so we waste time.

Still longing to be pulled right-side out.
We look for fulfilment inside time by
Filling it up so we can ignore it.
Occasionally we find bliss in the tiny
Empty spaces where time used to be.

We miss the verymost truth of the sock that is Inside-out,
someone will fix it. Your mom. Your wife.
Everything happens in good time.
